Embrace your inner jailbird with Convict Cuffs

Sent to our fair land for stealing loaves of bread and the odd dairy cow, convicts were transported to Australia in the 18th and 19th centuries by the British government. Many of us have a family tree that leads back to these men and women convicted of petty or major crimes and sent to form new colonies in Australia.

It’s this dense history and family lineage that has inspired father-and-son team Peter and Joey to create Convict Cuffs. Dedicated to their ancestors’ memory, Peter and Joey create cuffs, rings and bracelets from non-ferrous metals like aluminium, titanium and copper. Each piece of jewellery is individually handmade, with the pieces hand-sanded, burnished and anodised or left natural.

Located in Newstead, Convict Cuffs comes in both heavy and lightweight designs, with polished, matt and coloured finishes. Pieces are designed for both ladies and gents, with smooth, spiked, crinkled and cut-out shapings featured. Cuffs are left open at one end, while bracelets form a complete circle. The high-quality and handmade nature of these contemporary designs means the brand can be paired with elegant evening dresses, as well as being suited to the stylings of those marked with a half-sleeve and travelling via motorcycle.
