Three acrobats and a violinist captivate crowds in Circa’s hometown premiere of What Will Have Been

In celebration of its milestone 20th anniversary, world-renowned performing-arts powerhouse Circa is taking circus mastery to dizzying new levels with a special hometown premiere of its international hit What Will Have Been. Following a sell-out tour across France, the must-see show – which has been dubbed the most challenging ever for Circa performers – will captivate Brisbane audiences with a limited season at QPAC from March 13–17.

In What Will Have Been, there aren’t any props, elaborate costumes or a huge cast of stars – just three acrobats, a solo violinist and a bare stage. The unmissable live performance is a showcase of circus in its purest form, where the boundaries of human strength and movement are pushed beyond belief to the soundtrack of spine-tingling melodies.

Experienced Circa performers Daniel O’Brien and Kimberley Rossi star alongside the ensemble’s intrepid recent recruit Zac Stephens in the thrilling display of interlocking bodies, fearless movement and sheer physicality, under the direction of Circa’s visionary, Yaron Lifschit. The trio’s daring performance is amplified by stirring sounds of iconic composers Vivaldi and Bach, which are powerfully brought to life on stage by Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s violin virtuoso, Rebecca Seymour, with a unique fusion of contemporary electronica.

Promising plenty of edge-of-your-seat moments, What Will Have Been is a thrilling bookend to a landmark 20 years for Circa, which, from its base in Brisbane, has taken its sell-out tours to 40-plus countries, performing for more than 1.5-million people and counting.

Brisbane audiences can witness What Will Have Been at QPAC’s Playhouse Theatre from March 13–17. Tickets are on sale now through QPAC.

Presented by QPAC and Circa. A Norfolk and Norwich Festival commission.
