TWE The Truth Is

The Truth Is exposed at The Twelfth Night Theatre

As part of a new project supported by the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health, The Truth Is reveals a narrative centred on culture and identity and set in Southeast Queensland.

Performed during the Clancestry events, the play is noted as a feature of the festival’s celebrations and will give young aboriginal people an opportunity to highlight the positive outcomes growing up in an urban setting can foster. Community theatre company Digi Youth Arts was inspired by the personal experiences of seven young indigenous people who grew up in Logan City to create a performance that reflects these experiences and challenges.

In The Truth Is, protagonist Charlie explores the connections between people, place and the self-identity that often stems from where you grow up. Performed by First Nation Youth, the show will be housed by Bowen Hills’ The Twelfth Night Theatre from February 20–22.
