Support independent art and music at The DIY Festival

A new festival is in town and it goes by the name The DIY Festival. The festival director, Robbie Maher, decided he wanted to build his own festival to disrupt all the festivals.

A one of a kind event, The DIY Festival (Devise It Yourself Festival) is a unique showcase of emerging creativity and will complement the wealth of artists emerging from Brisbane’s underground arts scene. Brisbane creative types have been clamouring for a festival where artists don’t have to fight for their audience, where they have a common goal and they can share it’s success. Covering visual art, dance, theatre, and music, The DIY Festival promises to entertain and delight audience members with their new bold shows.

Some of the festival’s highlights include How to be an Adult an engaging physical story about a girl experiencing the world around her, the half dance and half theatre production of From the Ashes, Beyond The Imaginarium, which boasts a group of emerging artists who bring an interesting blend of sci-fi and theatre, live music from Silvan Rus and much more. The festival kicks off on November 26 and runs until November 29 at Cupo in Fortitude Valley. Head to The Stan Dup Ensemble website for more information.
