Experience Our Dreaming: animating country at SLQ

Storytelling comes to life through animation in a unique celebration at the State Library of Queensland.

The vivid stories of Queensland’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities will be retold by means of colourful animation in Our Dreaming: animating country. Discovering how age-old stories can be retold via new mediums for future generations, Our Dreaming will share a rich legacy and help preserve connections to Australia’s long ancestry. Embracing a sense of belonging, and a relationship to people and place, the SLQ exhibition will explore new ways of sharing The Dreaming.

Launching on December 13–15, the event will begin with an official launch ceremony as well as an ensemble of family activities and live performances. Our Dreaming will also feature an exhibition in the library’s Infozone, storytelling in kuril dhagan, an immersive landscape of animations in the SLQ Gallery and a glimpse into the process of animating at Philip Bacon Heritage Gallery. There will also be a series of Christmas events for younger library-goers. For the full program and individual event details, visit the SLQ website.
