Get festive in the city this Christmas
If your child-like sense of Christmas spirit remains strong, or you’re looking to rekindle your festive flame, head along to Brisbane’s jolliest events of the season.
Merry folk of all ages can watch as the Myer Christmas Parade & Pantomime goes by each night at 6:30 pm, from December 13–22. Featuring more than 200 performers and giant Christmas ornaments, the parade is sure to instil the magic of Christmas in its wide-eyed audiences.
After you’ve watched the daily procession, stroll over to Brisbane’s City Hall, where each evening from December 13–24, the city landmark will be lit as part of the Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular. The hall’s clock tower will sound across the city, and a three-dimensional animated show will be projected onto Brisbane City Hall every 15 minutes from 7:30 pm until midnight.
Then, on Friday December 20 Reddacliff Place will host its annual World by Night event. From 6:00–10:00 pm, the multicultural event will showcase African drumming, Argentine tango and world music performances by the Ethno Australia Orchestra. There will also be a range of crafts available for last-minute Christmas gifts.
