ANZAC centenary and journey to Gallipoli to be commemorated

A special interactive exhibition and a commemorative ride of 100 horses will mark the centenary of Australia’s involvement with the First World War and the Gallipoli landings.

To mark 100 years since the departure of Australian armed forces for the First World War and their journey to Gallipoli, the Queensland Government has organised an educational encampment exhibition as well as a commemorative ride of 100 horses from the Australian Light Horse Association through the Brisbane CBD this Saturday September 27. Actors, dressed in uniforms and clothes from the period, will be on hand to re-enact events from 1914 at the exhibition, located at The Courier-Mail Piazza, whilst the commemorative ride will move through Brisbane City along Adelaide Street (between George and Creek Streets) at 5:00 pm.
