If you love belting out a ballad, impress with a rapid-fire rap or putting your pipes to work with a pop anthem, these are the best spots to get your karaoke fix.

Lost Souls, Fortitude Valley: As anyone that frequents Netherworld knows, the team doesn’t do things by halves. This also goes for Lost Souls, the team’s purgatory-themed karaoke bar where guests can belt out an assortment of jams surrounded by monsters, demons and other wayward spirits. Boasting a number of themed rooms filled with custom-made fibreglass decorations and props, Lost Souls has partnered with Singa to give punters a massive array of songs to choose from. The venue itself will be equipped with its own eight-tap bar dispensing a concise edit of Netherworld’s full tap list as well as an extensive cocktail set up. You’ll be able to order drinks to your room, so you’ll never need to cut your performance short if you’re feeling parched.

Ben’s Vietnamese and Chinese Restaurant, Woolloongabba: If you love putting on a show, you’ll love the setup at Ben’s in Woolloongabba. Every Saturday night, the beloved restaurant erects a stage for live karaoke. Diners are encouraged to flip through a giant tome of song options, submit their request and then, at some point during the night, get called up to sing in front of the entire restaurant. There’s nothing more thrilling than nailing ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ in front of an audience.

Fat Louie’s, Brisbane City: Taking a page out of Tokyo’s book, Fat Louie’s on Albert Street boasts a number of its own private karaoke rooms, all furnished with lounges and tables. Pile in a curate a playlist using a nifty hand-held device, then go nuts. Fat Louie’s updates its karaoke catalogue every few months, with a vast array of eras, genres and languages to choose from. Oh, and the rooms a licensed for drinks, making karaoke a great party option.

Game Republic, Sunnybank: Though primarily known as a gaming lounge, Game Republic’s entertainment experiences also extend karaoke. Game Republic has a number of rooms for groups of various sizes eager to release their inhibitions. With rooms fit for groups of ten, 19 and 25 people (plus a VIP room with capacity for 45), you can recruit your own audience and live out your rockstar dream.

Cono Singing Booth, Brisbane City: Tucked away at the top of an inconspicuous flight of stairs off Burnett Lane is Cono Karaoke – a casual singing spot boasting a number of soundproof pods equipped with quality karaoke systems. Though on the smaller side, the largest of these booths can accommodate roughly eight guests. As for Cono’s catalogue, you’ll find everything from classic rock to the latest pop hits.

Cloud8, Upper Mount Gravatt: Touted as Brisbane’s very first themed karaoke, Cloud8 at Westfield Mount Gravatt has 14 rooms, each boasting a different aesthetic. Live out your big-band Elvis fantasies in the Las Vegas room, croon a sultry number in the jazz bar room, or blow minds with some futuristic hyperpop in the space-themed room. Each space comes with everything you need for a killer karaoke experience – we’re talking 65-inch LED TVs, comprehensive sound controls, disco and laser lights, and a diverse song selection.

Music City, Brisbane City: A long-running favourite amongst karaoke connoisseurs, Music City on Adelaide Street is a great spot to kick out the jams. Offering a number of comfy and affordable rooms for groups of varying sizes, Music City is a great option for parties or spur-of-the-moment outings. Good to know – Music City is also BYO friendly.

MOJO Karaoke Bar & Cafe, Sunnybank: Cocktails, karaoke and Sichuan-style cuisine – it’s all here at MOJO. Featuring multiple rooms and a 200-seat dining space, your night here doesn’t simply revolve around a microphone.

Blute’s Bar, Fortitude Valley: If you’ve wandered down Brunswick Street Mall and heard the sounds of singing emanating from a nearby bar, there’s a good chance you’ve reached Blute’s. The rowdy boozer is one of Brisbane’s most popular karaoke spots, with a fully equipped stage perfect for showboats eager to sing themselves hoarse. Take note, Blute’s is currently undergoing renovations, but is expected to open in August.

Strike Bowling, various locations: Did you know there’s more to Strike than knocking down bowling pins? Just about every Strike Bowling location is equipped with karaoke facilities boasting state-of-the-art systems, lots of fun props to enhance your performances and an extensive song catalogue to choose from. The Strike kitchen and bar is also on call to send some tasty treats and thirst-quenching drinks your way.

Holey Moley, various locations: Like its bowling-centric sibling, Holey Moley also boasts its own karaoke rooms for when you need to blow off some post-putt putt steam. Guests can select from a whopping catalogue of classic hits and chart-toppers before aiming for going for a hole-in-one performance.

The Brunswick Hotel, Fortitude Valley: Every Saturday night, the front bar at The Brunswick Hotel fills to the brim with folks eager to have a crack at some karaoke. This is one of the most popular karaoke nights by far, so get in early to put your selections forward – spots fill up quickly!

Dynamite Karaoke & Bar, Brisbane City: Another Burnett Lane karaoke destination, Dynamite features a number of bookable private rooms serviced by a bar pouring an assortment of drinks. Not keen on karaoke? Dynamite also has a trio of pool tables and dart machines.
