Absorb dreamy tunes at The Quietest Music Festival

The ten musical folk behind Brisbane band Inland Sea are a talented bunch. Not only can they coordinate five voices to create intricate harmonies and present an instrument-heavy ensemble, but they also manage to not kill each other in the process … just.

Now this tight-knit, folky family is throwing itself a music festival, splitting up into the six musical side projects within the ten-member band, before reuniting to deliver an Inland Sea set complete with new material.

The ‘quiet’, acoustic side projects of Little Company, Jack Spider & Le Cello, Jeremy Hunter, Alastair McRae, Claire Whiting and Live Girls will play from twilight this Saturday at Contortionist Studios in Woolloongabba.

Listen to Inland Sea’s latest track ‘Words Are Circles‘ online before absorbing the real deal at The Quietest Musical Festival. With a bake sale and sausage sizzle to keep hunger pangs at bay, DJ sets by Triple J’s Sarah Howells will also feature. This is the last chance to catch homegrown Inland Sea in all its forms before the band embarks on what will surely be the first of many overseas jaunts.
