Relik seeks inspiration in nature

The tactile surfaces of the Australian landscape provide the creative fodder for the sculptural pieces of Relik.

The ability to find magic in our surroundings is something that often subsides as we leave childhood. But those who manage to hold onto it well into adulthood often use it to fuel their creative pursuits, as is the case with designer Luke Mansini of Relik. Luke grew up amongst the natural beauty of Cedar Creek, where his studio is based today, and he often wanders through the surrounding bushland and along the creeks and waterfalls in search of inspiration for his sculptural and decorative pieces.

Encompassing vase-like vessels, bowls and plant holders crafted from crude materials such as silicone, polymers, concrete, sand and paint, the objects that comprise the Relik collection appear at once precious and tactile. Many of them reflect the natural textures such as rock and driftwood in their surfaces, bringing an intriguing beauty to the seemingly durable objects. Find selected Relik objects locally at Fallow.
