With a change of seasons nigh, we think it’s high time to do a bit of a redesign when it comes to our home’s interiors. Shopping for your sanctuary will be a little bit easier – and a whole lot more luxe – with the arrival of Markian in New Farm, a designer and distributor of quality bespoke furniture, lavish interior objects, rugs and fine art.

Excellence, innovation and a home that exudes comfort and style – this is the ethos behind bespoke furniture store Markian, which has just opened a new showroom on Brunswick Street in New Farm. The Brisbane-based design and manufacturing firm brings together two families with more than 50 years of combined experience in the commercial interior space. Brothers Andrew and Justin Barrett run things on the logistics and commercial side whilst partners Roz de Waal and Christopher McKenzie are the art and design component of the trendy team.

The inaugural range from Markian – coined Vieira – is woven around the shape of a shell. This shape is featured throughout the entire range including the tables, chairs, bespoke furniture, linens and handmade rugs. Each Vieira furniture piece can be customised with nine colourway options – all of which are inspired by flowers that are native to both Australia and South Africa. Markian also offers a collection of Australian-made fine art, bespoke fragrances and more interior goodies. To do a little bit of window shopping, pop over to the Markian website or visit the the team at the dazzling new store at 730 Brunswick Street in New Farm.
