West Village unveils its sustainability-focused commercial development, Greenhouse
Despite our green-hued childhood friend Kermit the Frog singing ‘it’s not easy being green’, there are a plethora of companies, projects and initiatives proving that it’s a lot easier than we think. The arrival of West Village’s newest commercial building Greenhouse does just that, providing a community-driven and sustainability focused office space that increases the overall wellness of its employees, while decreasing the impact on the environment around them. This awe-inspiring project by Sekisui House Australia is now open, with its visionary design attracting a bounty of tenants. Take a peek inside (and outside) the lush, leaf-laden building …
West End dining and lifestyle precinct West Village is once again growing, adding an architectural gem to its abundant garden and another opportunity for commercial businesses to base their operations in this ever-growing precinct. Sekisui House Australia‘s Greenhouse is quite unlike anything Brisbane has ever seen before in the design space, paving a new way for commercial developments to focus on sustainability. Designed by Blight Rayner, the plant-adorned Greenhouse delivers 8-storeys of A-grade commercial office space with features and lifestyle amenities that are usually found in a lavish hotel. Inside the building, workers enter a grand foyer with a Japanese-inspired water feature and a bespoke 6×6-m Shoji lantern, a large rooftop garden, multiple function spaces, outdoor workspaces, and premium end-of-trip facilities. The building’s strong sustainability focus is further integrated with the use of green power, solar panels, smart technology, and energy monitoring to target a 6-star Green Star and 5.5-star NABERS ratings. Sounds like office goals to us.
Nestled behind the iconic Ice Cream Factory, Greenhouse is set to welcome tenants including include the Queensland arm of Sekisui House Australia, who will be joined by Frasers Property Australia, Workspace 365, Eyecon Limited and Morgans Stockbroking. As well as having access to the building’s modern working spaces and world-class amenities, office dwellers are able to enjoy all that West Village has to offer. On top of being an envious work location with plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces where employees can be creative, West Village is also brimming with delicious dining destinations. Workers will be able to grab lunch from the likes of Betty’s Burgers, Beirut Bazaar, Cheeky Poké Bar, Picnic West End, Yamas Greek & Drink, Anita Gelato, Italian Street Kitchen, Kürtősh, Ichiban Sushi and nodo.
West Village’s Greenhouse is now open. Searching for a sustainability-focused commercial office space for your business? There are still two levels available for lease, with opportunities for full floor tenants. Head to the West Village website for more information and to express your interest.
