dine bne launch party

Dine BNE City heats up with FIRESIDE: Food & Wine, a sizzling soiree that’ll chase away the winter chill

June not only heralds the start of Dine BNE City, it also marks the official beginning of winter. To celebrate the launch of both happenings, Dine BNE City will be hosting a fireside feast with belly-warming fare and tipples that are guaranteed to keep you toasty.

A mid-year pick-me-up is on the cards for the people of Brisbane, so clear your calendars and round up the crew – it’s so close we can taste it! The grills are firing and the bottles are popping in anticipation for Brisbane’s mammoth month of mouth-watering events, Dine BNE City. To celebrate the launch of this month-long food extravaganza, you and your pals are invited to the exciting launch party, FIRESIDE:Food & Wine, on Thursday June 1. With a Sunnyboy or Gresham Old Fashioned cocktail in hand on arrival from The Gresham team and atmospheric party tunes filling the air, we think you will settle in quite nicely!

Set in the magical grounds of architecturally exquisite St Stephens Cathedral will play host to a myriad of delectable dishes and primo pours. As its name suggests, FIRESIDE: Food & Wine will be centred around the smoky brilliance of fire-kissed fare, with guests able to gather to witness the flames dance around the bounty of local produce on offer. Expect to nosh on elevated delights from some of Brisbane City’s finest establishments – there will be charcoal-grilled Mooloolaba king prawn skewers with truffled tartare sauce from Tillerman, cumin-spiced lamb buns from Donna ChangNew York cheesecake from Walter’s Steakhouse and Wine Bar, and woodfired pork belly with crisp crackling on a milk bread roll, with shaved fennel and fermented chilli dressing courtesy of Dalton Catering. There will also be plenty to keep your whistle wet, including beer, wines from City Winery, and cocktails from The Gresham. The flavour-packed feast begins at 6:00 pm and is expecting to welcome a party of hundreds – make sure you’re one of them!
