Pacific Fair’s $670-million redevelopment almost halfway

The $670-million transformation of Pacific Fair into Queensland’s largest shopping destination is well underway in Broadbeach and has almost passed the halfway point.

Pacific Fair is set to become a world-class shopping destination following the largest redevelopment in the centre’s 38 year history. The work commenced in January 2014 and reached the first significant milestone late last year with the opening of the new North-East Mall and the Riverwalk. The new wing houses a dozen retailers including Target, JB Hi-Fi HOME, MUSE, Dick Smith Electronics, Caffe Cherry Beans, Kidstuff and Michel’s Patisserie.

The next stage of the demolition commenced in January of this year with approximately 20 stores in the middle of the centre closing. The next two staged openings scheduled for mid-2015 will include approximately 70 specialty stores as well as Woolworths, Event Cinemas, Big W, a fresh food marketplace and more than 1,000 new car parks.

Upon completion in 2016, the centre will include a completely integrated two-level mall and offer two full-line department stores, two supermarkets, three discount department stores, luxury and high street fashion, unrivalled dining and bar experiences, a world-class indoor/outdoor leisure and entertainment precinct, and more than 400 specialty stores. And with more than 6,000 parking spaces, customers can expect an unrivalled shopping experience. Keep up to date with the latest construction updates.
