Stone & Wood Brisbane

Further cementing Brisbane’s status as the craft-beer capital of Australia, Stone & Wood opened its own Sunshine State brewery and tap room in Fortitude Valley in November 2019. After expanding its brewery operation in Byron Bay, the crew decided to deliver a quintessential Stone & Wood experience to its closest northern neighbour securing a spot in the Trails Ltd Ice & Cold Stores building on Bridge Street. The brewery provides a home for the company’s Brisbane-based team and houses a small brewing operation, consisting of an eight-hectolitre brewhouse, five fermenters and three serving tanks. This gear is used to produce and pour a range of small-batch beers exclusively for the Brisbane venue through the tap room’s 24 taps, as well as Stone & Wood’s core range and some rare drops for its pilot brewery. The building also houses areas for beer training (or ‘beerification’), masterclasses, a private function area for 100 people, merch displays and an on-site canteen, the latter of which will feature a rotating selection of local food vendors.

If you’re planning to pop into Stone & Wood Brisbane, have a taste-test of the brand-new tipple Sunly Seltzer – a no-nasties sparkling hard seltzer with less than three grams of sugar per can. Born and brewed in Byron Bay, these guilt-free cans of paradise are made using a gluten-free grain, hops, water and yeast (similar to the beer-making process) and are topped off with an infusion of vibrant natural ingredients. A tasty carbonated-concoction for fun times spent in the sun, the seltzers come in three different delicious fruity flavours including Davidson plum and berry, ginger and lemon, and blood orange and grapefruit. These refreshing cans of goodness are available to sip at the brewery or you can grab a carton (or two) to take home. For more information, head to the Sunly Seltzer website.
