Sì Baby
Newport Marketplace, a new waterfront retail hub in Moreton Bay, has brought a host of new dining options to the Redcliffe peninsula. This dining array is led by Sì Baby, a chic Italian restaurant located on the canal. The 65-seat restaurant delivers a comprehensive region-spanning menu of Italian eats in an approachable setting. Architecture and interior design firm Cameron & Co has overseeing the fit-out, utilising a material palette of travertine stone and marble to create an alluring and sophisticated aesthetic that suits special occasions as well as spontaneously informal visits. Sì Baby’s kitchen is helmed by Damien Styles (The Fish House, Rubi Red, Sofia’s Restaurant & Bar and Tommy’s Italian), who is working with accomplished pizzaiolo Emanuele Giuliani to create a broad menu featuring snacks, pizza, pasta, mains and more. Starters like truffle burrata, crispy fried calamari and grilled octopus with ‘nduja lead into a pizza selection boasting more than ten options. The woodfired Roman-style pizzas (lovingly cooked in a Marana Forni oven) are crafted using Caputo Nuvola flour and a 48-hour fermentation process, resulting in a delightfully airy base upon which to layer premium ingredients. Pastas like spaghetti with prawns, chilli and garlic, and papardelle lamb ragu are joined by mains like pork schnitzels and rib-eye steaks. On the beverage front, expect a suite of cocktails (including three kinds of spritz), a sturdy wine list blending Australian and Italian varieties, and two collaborative beers on tap made with the team at Aether Brewing.
