Riser Bread

Riser Bread started life as a loaf-slinging subscription service, where customers could order a weekly loaf for pick up from select participating bars and cafes. These days, carb cravers can get the bread straight from the source at Riser’s light-filled Toowong bakery-cafe hybrid. Here, the team is serving country-style sourdoughs, a grain-filled option boasting sesame, sunflower seed, linseed and poppyseed, an olive, lemon zest and rosemary loaf, a Scando-style 100-percent rye and a triple raisin and toasted fennel seed loaf. These are all available alongside a selection of flaky pastries like walnut and sea salt scrolls, mortadella and Lombardi pickle croissants, asparagus and pecorino danishes, kardemummabullar (Swedish cardamom buns), and ajvar and fetta bear claws. There’s also meaty and vegetarian-friendly sausage rolls and sandwiches made using Loop Growers produce, if you’re after a more lunch-appropriate bite. Coffee Supreme is Riser Bread’s caffeine supplier of choice, with cups of jolt juice on offer alongside chai from Yoke Kitchen in West End and fresh orange juice.
