The Venzin Group has given its beloved Pawpaw a new lease on life, expanding into the space once occupied by Green Papaya to create a new cafe, restaurant and bar hybrid. Most breakfast options are served until 3:00 pm, including the Californian Breakfast Burrito and the Brioche Stack, which is piled with vanilla mascarpone, figs, strawberries, cherries, house-made chocolate ganache, agave syrup and almonds. Further into the day you’ll find a new lunch menu (think barbecue duck tacos, an American cheeseburger and a wholesome chicken salad), as well as Pawpaw’s much-loved Cocowhip and superfood smoothies. Come evening, the venue nods to Green Papaya’s past, with an Asian-inspired menu of small, large and share dishes. Crispy soft-shell crab bao, crumbed silken tofu, sweet-and-sour crispy-skin pork belly and a selection of curries all feature on the dinner menu, which is available Wednesday to Sunday from 5:30 pm. Or if a casual tipple and bar snack takes your fancy, head to Pawpaw Bar at the back of the venue, accessed via Potts Street and open Sundays from 2:00–6:00 pm.
