fio is a jewellery company in Fortitude Valley with a name that literally translates from Latin to ‘to be made’. The straight-forward expression is evidently one that has inspired the creative brain behind the company, Matt Dwyer. The Brisbane-based metalsmith transformed a passion for sculpture into one for jewellery – though he still dabbles in lighting creation and was behind the lampshade sculptures in Woolloongabba’s antique precinct.
