Dibs Espresso Bar is a colourful coffee spot nestled inside The Black Lab Coffee Co.’s warehouse headquarters in Albion. Here, a slim white counter is equipped with a Sanremo Opera coffee machine, a self-serve batch-brew tap and Malkhonig EK43 coffee grinders – everything needed to pour a perfect brew. An umbrella-shaded timber banquette with small tables sits outside, while a retail shelf inside houses take-home bags and other bits of gear. Perched above Dibs is Six Bar Coffee Gym, a training and education centre run by seasoned industry veteran Adam Van Blerk. Six Bar offers courses for baristas of all skill levels (as well as home brewers), giving shot pullers a chance to get hands-on with some high-end equipment (including a Sanremo Zoe, Cafe Racer and an Opera machines), with a gym-style membership allowing folks to come in and hone their skills at any time of the day or night.
