Cordeaux Social Club

Cordeaux Social Club is a cafe and wine bar hybrid located in a peaceful pocket on Montague Road and Cordeaux Street, a mere grape toss from Orleigh Park. The venue is the brainchild of brothers Michael and Alex Jokovich, and Alex’s partner Hannah, who have converted the weatherboard-clad site formerly home to Alberto’s Shot Espresso Bar into a welcoming day and night haunt for coffee, wine and snacks. Internally, Cordeaux Social Club favours neutral tones, paired with hardwood timber finishes, polished wooden floorboards and leather booth seating, with sliding bi-folds and a coffee window opening up the space, creating a breezy laid-back atmosphere. A new 55-seat outdoor area has expanded the total capacity to more than 100, with shaded picnic tables and an outdoor bar offering a breezy addition for groups and functions.

Designed as a dependable sip and snack spot from morning through to evening, Cordeaux Social Club offers breakfast and coffee from Tuesday to Sunday and dinner and drinks Thursday through Saturday. Head chef Elia Cerrelli is bringing his Italian heritage to the fore, with a daytime menu boasting sausage and egg muffins, breakfast plates and deli-style sandwiches on housemade focaccia. At night, Cordeaux’s menu leans more towards snacks and small plates, featuring the likes of seared Hokkaido scallops, beef tartare with shallot, cornichon and soy egg yolk, fish fritters with nori and sesame, pork collar with cos salad and cauliflower rice, house-made ravioli with peas, almond and balsamic, and herb-crumbed snapper. On the drinks front, a killer wine list assembled in consultation with the crew at Half Moon Wine Store remains flush with fun wines, but it has been bolstered with the inclusion of some more old-word European drops.
