Cerin Pasticceria

Brisbane’s bakery scene scored an extra dose of Italian flair in May 2024 when Cerin Pasticceria opened in the heart of Woolloongabba. The brainchild of pastry chef Matteo Cerin and front-of-house pro Giuseppe Caputo, Cerin showcases a suite of Italian-style pastries, cakes and focaccia. The duo has converted the old home of The Baker’s Arms into a classic bakery that meshes with the heritage aspects of its Logan Road surroundings. Cerin Pasticceria’s range includes a wide array of serve small treats (pasticcini), individual cakes, large cakes and limited-edition celebratory cakes. The counter is often filled with these drool-worthy treats (plus cream-filled bomboloni) and pastries (including custard-filled cornetti and carbonara danishes), as well as stuffed and pizza-style focaccia available by the slaice. A small deli section houses a range of Italian products sourced from friends or reputable suppliers, while Veneziano Coffee Roasters is supplying the all-important caffeine.
