Think global, act local – Virtual Village brings The Village Markets experience online
Rather than being selfish with their hidden gems, the founders of The Village Markets have a new way to share the love with their newest concept, Virtual Village.
A good market is a great way to soak up local culture – what could be better than supporting small makers, finding new labels before they hit the mainstream, and the thrill of the thrifted find? Here on the Gold Coast, Burleigh Heads’ The Village Markets is a local favourite and now you don’t need to wait until Sunday rolls around to experience it – the new Virtual Village means you can discover its makers 24/7 online!
When lockdown prevented The Village Markets from opening, the ever-innovative local legends and co-founders Marissa Bowden and Sarah Schoeller were missing TVM’s offering of community and connection. In a first for the event, they decided to take the markets virtual. After overwhelming success – their first internet event saw more than one million viewers jump online – Virtual Village is becoming a mainstay (much to our lounge-loving delight). With the online directory bringing more than 120 brands and creatives to one place, this community is going global.
Gold Coast and international creatives have the opportunity to be part of the online Virtual Village directory, which launched December 1, 2020. From fashion, hair and make-up products to art, design and content creators, small businesses from Australia and New Zealand will have the opportunity to leverage a global platform and elevate their brand presence. Sure to be as inspiring as a weekend wander through the aisles, take a peek at what the Virtual Village has to offer here.
