Croquet on the lawn, secret gardens and artisan samples – our guide to eating and drinking your way through Providore Park

The winter sun is shining, aromas of tasty treats dance through the air and sounds of live music fill your ears as you stroll through a botanical wonderland. This is not a dream – it’s the reality of Providore Park, a tantalising new gourmet event that is taking over Roma Street Parkland for one glorious weekend from July 8–9. With a surprise at every turn, this is your official guide on how to get the most out of your trip to Providore Park.

Start your day at The Village, a food-lover’s paradise boasting tasty samples, artisan discoveries and perfect pours. The gourmet hub will be brimming with stalls for you to explore, chatting with local producers and stallholders and you taste the fruits of their labour. Freshly shucked oysters, buttery pastries, oozing cheeses and decadent chocolate will be amongst the delights on offer to sample, alongside wine, craft beer, small-batch spirits and alcohol free tipples. Entry to The Village is free, leaving you with spending money to stock up on your favourite flavours of the day – think pantry staples and deli goods including caviar, salumi, truffles, sauces, olives and antipasti. The Village will be open on both Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

If you want to up-the-ante of your Providore Park experience, grab your friends and book a spot at Picnic Society. A Instagram-worthy private cabana will be sitting pretty and awaiting your arrival, complete with a grazing platter of Providore Parks most drool-worthy bites and a selection of Chandon tipples. Your private picnic spot will be all yours for 90 minutes of sipping and snacking, and costs $120 for groups of up to four. If your friendship groups extends beyond that, fear not! You can upgrade to a maximum of eight guests for an extra $30 per person. Go all in and book your picnic oasis here.

Looking for the perfect match? Look no further than Masterclass at The Conservatory and pick up a new art of food and drink matching in this scrumptious small-group culinary masterclass. While learning tricks of the matchmaking trade, a trio of snacks will be yours to nibble, each paired perfectly with a refreshing drink. Limited places are available for $30 per person – secure your spot here.

In between the eating and drinking, gather the gang and enjoy a friendly game of croquet at Providore Park’s Croquet Club. For 30 minutes, the grassy court is yours as you sip a glass of Minuty rosé and swing your best shot. For $60 per session, the Croquet Club will be exclusively yours to share with up to five of your most competitive friends, basking in the winter sun. Mallets at the ready – you can book your spot on the green here.

Keen to elevate your experience? Seek out the Chandon Secret Garden – Providore Park’s exclusive VIP lounge. This adults-only oasis means you can enjoy the spoils of the day in complete luxury – your all-day access pass offers a plush lounge area, plenty of shade and garden views, making it the perfect spot to indulge in the tasting platter and three drinks you’ll receive on arrival! The private bar will be serving the finest Australian-made sparkling, wine and beer all weekend long – head to the Providore Park website to secure your exclusive spot.
