See Ernie Dingo in musical hit The New Black

Be thoroughly entertained with an evening of comedy, drama, song, dance and spectacle as The New Black takes the stage at The Arts Centre Gold Coast on May 13 and 14.

If you’ve ever been stuck between a rock and a hard place, you’ll appreciate Jim Kokatha’s predicament. Jim Kokatha is a young Aboriginal man who is making inroads at a Brisbane law firm. Life is good until his Aunt is summonsed to an inquest and Jim is caught between his aspirations and his responsibilities. The play delves into the trials and tribulations that he encounters all the while asking the question, what would you do?

The New Black is a savvy new indigenous musical that stars Leeroy Bilney, Marcus Corowa, Ernie Dingo and Elaine Crombie among the stellar cast. The play was written by Leeroy Bilney, Marcus Corowa and S.L. Helper and has been hailed as the next Bran Nue Dae by Cameron Woodhead of The Age. The New Black is coming to The Arts Centre Gold Coast for two shows only.
