Four Pillars Sticky Carpet Gin returns with a new hoppy twist

Hankering for a gin that’s willing to get down and dirty? Four Pillars Sticky Carpet Gin 2.0, crafted in collaboration with Little Creatures brewery, might just be the bad boy you’re looking for. A revamp of one of Four Pillars’ dearly missed limited-edition varieties long gone, Sticky Carpet Gin 2.0 is back with a bang and served with a twist.

Originally released in 2019 to celebrate the grand reopening of St Kilda’s Hotel Esplanade (‘The Espy’ to locals), Four Pillars Sticky Carpet Gin is a tribute to classic Aussie pubs, bars and hotels of all stripes – their carpets sticky with beer and thick with stories. The first iteration utilised a locally roasted dark stout as its secret sauce, but this second coming opts for a crisp Little Creatures pale ale, poured straight into the still and mixed with a menagerie of juniper, coriander, honey, roasted barley, cassia, macadamia nuts and orris root, while fresh lemon peel and ginger bask in the botanical basket.

The final result is a stirring spirit with a depth of flavour, beautifully balancing chewy, malty hops with bright, citrusy overtones. Perfect for a swilling in a swell gin and tonic or splashing around as the standout ingredient in a range of cocktails. As part of a partnership with pub loyalty program The Pass, Four Pillars Sticky Carpet Gin 2.0 can be enjoyed in its native habitat – posted up in the pub – in eight exclusive venues across Australia, including two Brisbane locals – the scenic Riverland and undisputed icon The Regatta – for a limited time only, of course.

By stopping by IRL you will not only be experiencing that Hashtag Classic Pub Lyfe, you’ll get the opportunity to sample some signature serves, starring the Sticky Carpet Gin, crafted specially for the event. Riffing on Australian classics, these sweet sips include the Pine Lime Shot, the Frozen Hard LLB and, inspired by those hazy memories of downing some bright red ‘Fire Engines’, the Watermelon G&T.

You can nab a nip of Four Pillars Sticky Carpet Gin at Riverland and the Regatta, or buy a bottle for your home bar cart online here
