Immerse yourself in a multi-media exploration of music, art and drama as Grammy Award-nominated orchestra Tafelmusik performs in the QPAC Concert Hall.

One of the world’s leading period performance ensembles, Tafelmusik, has returned to Australia to perform one of its most ambitious performances to date, House of Dreams. Following on from the success of The Galileo Project on its first Australian tour, the orchestra’s new multi-media concert will whisk the audience away to private homes in London, Venice, Delft, Paris and Leipzig where Baroque music and art intersect. Lose yourself in pieces by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Purcell and Marais, as images of paintings by Vermeer, Canaletto and Watteau, and the private European homes in which these works hang, form a stunning backdrop projection. Narrator Blair Williams will weave together the tales to connect the five houses.

The production was created by Tafelmusik bassist Alison Mackay and will be performed by the ensemble from memory, enabling the musicians to move and interact with each other and the audience. Following concerts in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra, the House of Dreams Australian tour will draw to a close in the QPAC Concert Hall at 7:00 pm next Wednesday March 4.
