Pushies Galore

Cycling fiends converge at Pushies Galore

Whether you’re a fan of gears and lycra or prefer to take it easy on a vintage cruiser, head along to Pushies Galore this Sunday July 14.

Half bike-swap, half bike-meet, the third annual Pushies Galore event is sure to boost bike-lovers’ heart-rates before they even set foot on a pedal. Packed with activities and demonstrations from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, the festival was founded by bike-lovers Gavin Bannerman and Richard Butler and is a celebration of the thriving cycling culture in Brisbane.

The retro interior of Holland Park Bowls Club will be a whirr of wheels as attendees admire the penny farthing display, kids attend workshops to bedazzle their bikes and punters get involved in trading secondhand bikes and accessories. Cycling enthusiasts can even show off their prides and joy in the Show ‘n’ Shine competitions, spanning categories from BMX Vintage to Dragster. A range of organisations and companies from The Bicycle Revolution to Gear will also be on-hand to offer services and advice. Sustenance comes in the form of Mountain Goat Beer, Kombi Koffein coffee, barbecue goodness, pizza and more. Entry is $2.
