Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke set to play his solo material at the TBC Club

Known primarily for his work as vocalist for indie-rock pioneers Bloc Party, Kele Okereke has established himself as a seasoned solo performer. Kele will be performing songs from his latest album, Trick on Friday March 13.

Bloc Party dominated the noughties with its blend of fast paced and jagged indie rock. One of the band’s defining facets was the emotion and power communicated by vocalist Kele Okereke. Using a mix of charm, honesty and pure musicianship Kele led Bloc Party through a period of success, which boasted four critically acclaimed albums Silent Alarm, A Weekend In The City, Intimacy and One More Chance. Although Bloc Party is currently on hiatus Kele has continued to write and perform music as a solo artist. 2014 saw Kele release his second solo album Trick to positive reviews. Now touring Australia to support the record, Kele will be stopping in Brisbane to perform his songs at the TBC Club in Fortitude Valley. Tickets are still available through Moshtix.
