Cheap Fakes captivate at The City Sounds

Six-piece Brisbane-based band Cheap Fakes brings a blend of sounds and catchy tunes to The City Sounds festival on Friday August 16.

Mixing aspects of funk, pop, reggae and dance, Cheap Fakes will share its eclectic style with Queen Street audiences during the festival. The City Sounds attracts international and local artists to perform on Queen Street Mall’s main stage and neighbouring venues and has been running since 2000. Each year, the festival helps to launch many of Brisbane’s emerging musicians.

Alongside Cheap Fakes, the weekend will include the sounds of Felicity Lawless, Pat Tierney, Tari Hujan, Ruby Blue, Hemi Kingi Trio and CC the Cat, which will be heard from an assortment of the city’s venues. The technically talented musicians who make up Cheap Fakes will be performing outside the Visitor Information Centre at 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00 pm on Friday.
