Set your life aglow with Pop & Scott lampshades
The cool lighting designs of the 1960s inspired the Dream Weaver lampshades by Pop and Scott.
Though it was highly popular in the during the mid 20th century, jute fell out of favour as a material for several decades. Fortunately for those who are partial to its natural, organic aesthetic, jute is making a comeback in the form of the delightfully contemporary Dream Weaver lamps by Melbourne-based workshop cooperative Pop & Scott.
It takes two days to make each of the lampshades, weaving them by hand using natural fibres so that each one is unique. The Dream Weaver comes in a variety of styles, including the Starbust, Mid Light Weaver, Full Weaver, and Bell Weaver – each of which has several colour options. Their internal supports mean that they can be attached to any pendant style light fitting.
Pop & Scott (named after its founding creative twosome, botanical artist Poppy Lane and furniture maker Scott Gibson) recently opened its first public showroom in a converted space in the Melbourne suburb of Northcote.
