hello mr. magazine

Introducing hello mr. magazine about men who date men

Shaping a new representation of gay men in the media, hello mr. is a beautifully designed magazine using essays, stories, interviews and photography to fill the cultural chasm of what it means to be a gay man today.

The creation of Sydney-based US-expat Ryan Fitzgibbon, hello mr. began to sprout as an idea after Ryan started a casual blog about dating and being gay. Challenging the typical format of gay-lifestyle publications, Ryan has built a magazine that is realistic, witty and insightful instead of superficial, flawless and explicit. Rather than perfecting appearances or pushing agendas, the magazine chronicles the every day – and the narratives that shape it.

Set to be published twice a year, hello mr. is available in both print and digital editions, with issue one focusing on themes of growth, challenging tradition, love, loss and belonging. Contributors to issue one include writer and director Adam Goldman, Brisbane’s own author Benjamin Law and Brooklyn photographer Greg Reynolds, among others. These written and visual contributions from discerning men (who like to date men) from around the world are helping to create a dialogue for a community of gay gents not currently represented in the existing media landscape.
