Secret South Winter 2013

Secret South launches Traveller collection for winter

While we may daydream of travelling through unknown lands in chic apparel pertinent to the current culture, in reality, day-long treks are a less than glamourous affair as we utilise our girl-scout knowledge and dress for comfort and all seasons.

The latest collection from Sydney label Secret South translates the elaborate ornamentation of the 18th century Rococo style of art and architecture to your modern wardrobe, letting you invoke a little wayfarer whimsy into every day. Using the brand’s signature understated, elegant designs as the base, new winter collection Traveller sees a collaboration with artist Ainslie Fletcher bring Turkish Rococo prints to the local gentlelady’s silhouette.

Inspired by Rococo architecture and tile work, the prints form the core of the winter collection, featuring in a palette of cobalt blue, brilliant red, sapphire green and cool, neutral block tones to complement. Known for binding eclectic prints by local artists and designers with its artfully made cuts, Secret South delivers its classic shift dresses, silky separates and covetable scarves across both bright and easy-on-the-eye tones this season.

A textile and graphic designer who also works across the mediums of wallpaper design, painting and drawing, Ainslie Fletcher lends her hand to the fashion industry often, with previous collaborations including Milk and Honey, Converse and Chronicles of Never.
