TU M' Vintage

TU M’ Vintage opens in Stafford

Stafford is becoming a go-to suburb for a spot of antiques shopping with a side of coffee, with newcomer TU M’ Vintage having joined Crema Cafe, Old As Antiques and Collectables, Flower Market Expresso and Pod Espresso and Organics in the area.

The bright pink, graffiti-adorned exterior of TU M’ Vintage is hard to miss. Behind the colourful facade lies a melee of 1950s and 1960s toys, vintage paraphernalia and bizarre collectables and curiosities – the kind of kitsch you wouldn’t see in another antique or vintage stores. The owner, Ben Makin, has an eye for a unique piece, spotting valuable vintage amongst the usual rubble.

Inspired by the works of French Surrealist-Dadaist artist Marcel Duchamp, TU M’ Vintage sees potential in the cast off, obscure and mundane items of history, stocking an array of nautical vintage, glass and ceramics, prints and posters, memorabilia and vinyl. While this new space is currently quite petite, Ben is expanding the shop to include the block behind, meaning more room for retro art, furnishings and trinkets.

Only open Thursday to Saturday, TU M’ Vintage is a regular weekend destination, one that fits in between garage sailing in the northern suburbs and coffee from Elixir Coffee HQ Espresso Lounge a few doors down.
