Gather festive fare at the Moggill Christmas Twilight Market

Driving down into Brookfield, whilst only 20 minutes from the City, is like entering the lush green countryside. With a passionate community market, this lively country area is overflowing with local products and produce to inspire a Christmas direct from the farmers.

The regular Saturday morning Moggill Market has changed to a Christmas Twilight Market this Saturday December 19 from 2:30–7:00pm, and will be a festive evening out for the whole family. There will be all the Christmas fare you need, including turkey (free range and organic), free-range ham, fresh seafood, Christmas cakes, fruit mince pies, stone fruit, roasting vegetables, olives, cheese and baked goods. From the basics to the exotics, there all sorts of delicacies to prepare a fabulous Christmas feast.

As always there will be an international array of food trucks and food stalls ready for you to take a break with the likes of Chinese dumplings, Turkish bread and okonomiyaki, plus Crafty Pops and ice-cream to finish it all off. There are a couple of new stallholders joining the mix, such as Queensland’s last blacksmith, handcrafted woodwork and timber furniture merchants, silver and gemstone jewellers and whimsical watercolour painting artists.

On the entertainment front, vocalist Nikki DeBruyn and soulman Peter B will be on stage from 2:454:45 pm and father-and-son jazz-pop duo Aaron and Mark will take the stage from 5:00–7:00 pm.

The wonderful thing about the Moggill Market is that it showcases food from the local district and allows you to chat directly with the farmers about produce. It is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that has directed the proceeds of the market back into the Brisbane community since its inception in 2009.
