After returning home to Australia from backpacking around the world, Amanda Kitchen, was faced with the prospect of having no furniture to fill her home so she began up-cycling and refurbishing old pieces that she found at garage sales and thrift shops. What began out of necessity has grown into a full-time passion for Amanda who now spends her days sanding, painting and painstakingly restoring old beat-up furniture from her rainforest studio just south of Coolangatta. She believes there is an inherent character and charm in old furniture, something that is sadly lacking in modern mass-produced pieces. It’s also her little way of giving back to the environment.

All Kiss Create furniture items are one-offs and completely unique depending on her vision for the particular piece. Amanda also takes on restoration projects so if you have a piece of furniture that has perhaps seen better days, Amanda and her midas touch can have it looking as good as new.
