Lagom Studio brings ethically conscious fashion to the fore

The movement towards socially conscious fashion is gaining momentum. Two enterprising thinkers are set to lead the charge in environmentally sustainable and socially responsible fashion with their new online retail endeavour.

Much like fashion trends themselves, consumer habits are ever changing and in flux, however it is apparent that the latest shift to socially conscious shopping is here to stay. Harrison Sandeman-Strewe and Julia Mylne are two Brisbane-based designers and fashion enthusiasts that noticed an increasing demand for transparency on how and where clothing is made, and were inspired to create a retail resource for those looking for quality garments from labels that catered to that need. Lagom Studio is an online store that stocks pieces from a collection of labels that blend crisp aesthetics with quality materials that have been ethically sourced and manufactured from seed to garment. The store’s ethos is that all garment workers have a right to safe working conditions and decent wages, and also that the impact of fast fashion on the environment must be lessened. The site has launched today, with dozens of labels offering pieces that suit a contemporary minimalist aesthetic.

Lagom Studio is the perfect store for those that have been yearning for a source of socially responsible clothing, but don’t have the time to research labels on their own. Harrison and Julia have carefully hand-selected the brands on offer, creating an opportunity for consumers to reliably search for ethically sourced brands and for the brands themselves to reach new mindful customers. Labels available upon launch include Shaina Mote from Los Angeles (Lagom Studio is the only Australian stockist), Penny Sage and Kowtow from New Zealand and Bhalo from Perth. Check out the store and have your purchasing details handy – there is a strong chance you will be unable to resist making a purchase or two.
