Dîner en Blanc: What to wear to this year’s pop-up picnic

You’ve rounded up your friends, bought your tickets, organised your furniture, decorations and eats – all that’s left is the trickiest part, figuring out what to wear to Dîner en Blanc.

While most events will allow you to throw together an outfit at the last minute, you’ll want to make sure you have carefully planned ahead for your Dîner en Blanc attire. Because, as the name suggests, Dîner en Blanc is in fact a white dinner, meaning that everything – from tablecloths, napkins, decorations and the garb of guests – needs to be crisp pristine white.

Ladies tend to have it easier than men, opting for a white dress rather than searching for matching white separates. But if you need some inspiration for your snow-hued attire, consider this Camilla and Marc white blazer, this skirt from Seed, or this Dion Lee tank from Violent Green. Accessorise in white too, with this clutch from Witchery and these Tony Bianco woodstack-heeled mules. Zimmermann’s latest collection features white dresses, playsuits and tops, while ASOS and The Iconic have a number of white options to choose from.

For the guys, MJ Bale will have you covered with these trousers, or opt for these lightweight jeans from Ralph Lauren. On the top half, look to Herringbone for a classic crisp white shirt, Topman for this short-sleeve penny-collar number, or ASOS for this white-cotton blazer . Men can have equally as much fun with accessories as the girls, with these Converse Jack Purcell shoes from Apartment, or this white-dotted pocket round from The Knottery.
