Beau In The Woods opens flagship store at James Street

Paddington shoppers who have been glancing sad eyes towards the empty shell that was clothing favourite Chasing Bow on Latrobe Terrace can now rejoice. In-house label Beau In The Woods’ has opened flagship store at James Street, home to the latest collection from designer Kylie Ellis.

Inspired by a trip to Seminyak on the west coast of Bali on her honeymoon last year, Kylie Ellis has created a collection that moves from poolside jaunts to evenings sipping cocktails. The signature print was created by taking photos of the spa at the W Hotel in Seminyak, with the hotel also picking up the collection for its boutique. Block-coloured pieces feature amongst unique prints of tulips and a lightning strike amongst a purple sky. Made locally in Brisbane, the collection also features intricate beading executed by a team of ladies in India.

Along with Beau In The Woods designs, the new James Street boutique will stock a handful of local and international designers such as Sydney’s Nathan Smith, and limedrop and Dallas & Carlos from Melbourne. Threads from afar include FINE collection from France and Miss Bibi from Monaco. The upgrade to a larger space has also allowed Kylie the chance to forage for some favourite homewares, with the works of local creatives Page 33 in store, alongside New York’s Thomas Paul.
