QPAC dinosaur petting zoo

Dinosaur Petting Zoo brings prehistoric creatures to QPAC

From Jurassic Park to The Land Before Time, the tale of the reign of dinosaurs over the animal kingdom always captures the imagination.

While the story of the dinosaurs and their extinction is a piece of history grounded in scientific study, the tale reads more like a fantastical piece of fiction, with the latest rendition of the dinosaur story being performed at QPAC during January.

Dinosaur Petting Zoo is an interactive show performed using dinosaur puppets, which is returning to QPAC after selling out at Out of the Box 2012. Children can interact with the lifelike puppets and will have the opportunity to feed and pat the prehistoric creatures. Through the opportunity to water and care for the dinosaurs, children will not only learn more about dinosaurs, but will also be given a crash-course in the work involved in caring for domestic pets.

The performance on the Melbourne Green will feature a selection of dinosaurs that are known to have roamed the Earth millions of years ago, as well as insects and mammals from the Jurassic period.

@ QPAC, January 8–20
