Win a double pass to see Queensland Theatre’s witty and wildly entertaining White Pearl
At some point, no matter how hard they try to avoid it, it’s inevitable that businesses will come face to face with difficult situations. It’s how they deal with these crises that can spell or dispel a PR disaster. This is what is examined in Queensland Theatre’s newest production White Pearl, which has already taken Sydney by storm. Coming to the Bille Brown Theatre from June 17 to July 10, this corporate satire will tackle some seriously contentious themes, taking you on a rollercoaster ride that will make your jaw drop in both shock and laughter. If you’ve ever laughed, cringed or face-palmed at a big brand’s viral video failures or misguided tweets, this play is bound to resonate – because let’s face it, there are few things more quietly satisfying than watching the top dogs squirm.
Penned by creative genius Anchuli Felicia King, White Pearl touches on some timely topics such as toxic workplace culture, not-so-casual racism and how capitalism creates deep-seated insecurity – truly relatable content for anyone who has had to suffer through mega-corporate HR meetings. The play stars some of Australia’s finest theatre talent – Deborah An, Cheryl Ho, Mayu Iwasaki, Nicole Milinkovic, Matthew Pearce, Vaishnavi Suryaprakash and Lin Yin.
