Union Station
Denver, Colorado
There was a time when a steam-train trip was the height of elegance. That spirit has been revived in the recently renovated Union Station in Denver, Colorado, where the original charm of the magnificent building now exists harmoniously in a modern context. The station’s grand hall still has elements of its train station days, complete with monogrammed trunks and other accoutrements, and is also home to the aptly named (and very cool) watering hole, The Terminal Bar. But perhaps what captures that spirit of travel the most is the fact that the hall also acts as the lobby for the recently opened Crawford Hotel, whose rooms on the upper floors look out over the hustle and bustle below.
