Statler & Waldorf
25 Caxton Street, Petrie Terrace
Without being mega cheesy, sometimes, like Cheers, you want to go where everybody knows your name. A place like that just happens to exist on Caxton Street, but you won’t find Woody Harrelson behind the bar. Statler & Waldorf embodies the idea of a classic neighbourhood gastropub – a welcoming place for you to meet with your mates, enjoy an ice-cold craft beer and tuck in to some damn good food. Housed inside one of the street’s oldest buildings, Statler & Waldorf exudes character, its exposed-brick walls scattered with vintage bar paraphernalia, menu items and a portrait of the pub’s Muppet namesakes. Outside in the Clubhouse beer garden you’ll find a ping pong table ready for a challenge, tubs filled with jumbo Jenga blocks, and a collection of picnic tables waiting to be perched upon.
