For this instalment of The Edibles we documented the Nimbin Valley brown rice dish at Sourced Grocer in Teneriffe.

Adjusting to the season, Sourced Grocer’s current take on sticky rice uses brown rice sourced from Nimbin Valley in northern New South Wales. The farmer in question produces only rice and pecans – with the buttery nuts also expected to arrive shortly at the Teneriffe grocer. This delectable concoction features a base of sticky brown rice topped with a generous dollop of COYO coconut yoghurt and quarters of locally grown figs sourced from Bellmere in the Moreton Bay Region. Lemon balm and shaved coconut round off the repast. While the menu at Sourced Grocer will be receiving a shake up for the new season, this wholesome brown rice dish will be staying put, with the fresh fruit to possibly alter as the season shifts.
