Waterloo Hotel

The Waterloo Hotel in Newstead has been an iconic mainstay in the central Brisbane dining scene for years – more than a century if you check the history books. The hotel has moved from serving workmen from the warehouses and wharves along the Tenneriffe stretch of the Brisbane River in the 1930’s and 1940’s to becoming a comfortable abode for the young professional crowd and Fortitude Valley revellers of today. The popular watering hole has risen in profile in recent years thanks to some amazing refurbishments, giving the establishment a new lease on life. With cafe and a bistro dining available inside, eating at the Waterloo has never been easier. The extensive menu features all of the popular pub-lunch options from steaks to chicken parmagiana, as well as some exotic additions including prawn gyoza, Spanish meatballs and rum-and-coke pork belly. The bar also features a plethora of drink options, from tap beer to cocktails – you won’t go thirsty at the Waterloo Hotel. Day or night, the Waterloo Hotel has something to offer. Swing by for a casual bite or make a night of it, it’s all good at the Waterloo.
