Since its inception, Wandering Cooks has prided itself on its unconventional approach to dining. From foodie incubator to dynamo dinner spot in its own right, Wandering Cooks practically kick-started South Brisbane’s boom on its own. The space boasts a shared commercial kitchen, offering utilities and guidance to start-up businesses that form the next wave of restaurants, cafes and retail products. In recent years the Wandering Cooks car park has been transformed into a lush beer garden, with an on-site bar that showcases craft beer, minimal intervention wines, Australian-made spirits and locally roasted coffee. Proceeds from The Bar, The Deli and The Coffee Shed are funnelled back into the facility to ensure continuing support for emerging artisans, chefs and producers, while all aspects of the site commit to ethically sourcing goods, furthering waste management systems and improving employment practices.
