Vira Lata Food Truck

Those battling a Brazilian or Portuguese food craving best hunt down the roving Vira Lata Food Truck as it weaves its way through Brisbane City. The kitchen on wheels handcrafts secret family recipes into moreish dishes, from shredded paprika chicken and cream fraiche dumplings to crispy baguettes stuffed with a range of fillings such as free-range Goondiwindi pork sausage with kiss peppers, grilled Brazilian haloumi with sugar cane sauce, and slow-braised premium Australian Wagyu brisket in escabeche sauce. Owners Carlo Xavier and Taline Ferreira have combined their Brazilian and Portuguese backgrounds with a passion for African and European culinary influences and native ingredients to offer up handmade sandwiches and snacks to eat on the go. Football fans can feast on the modern Brazilian-Portuguese tucker throughout the 2014 World Cup, with a residency every Friday until July 11 at Reddacliff Place and a hangout at King George Square for all Australian games, the semi-final and grand final. Follow Vira Lata on Facebook and Instagram to keep an eye on the truck’s whereabouts.
