Twelfth Night Theatre

An artspace sits hidden in the housing opposite Bowen Hills station, with only a rainbow sign high above eye level notifying passersby of its presence. Twelfth Night Theatre was originally built by the government for the enjoyment of the theatre-loving community in 1969, but by 1980 was sold into private ownership. Since 1988, the creative space has been owned by Gail Wiltshire and today remains the only privately-owned theatre in Australia. The Bowen Hills establishment continues to present smaller, local productions to a seating capacity of up to 520 people.
