The Transcontinental Hotel

The Transcontinental Hotel is undoubtedly one of Queensland’s oldest pubs, having been standing strong on George Street for more than 130 years. An establishment doesn’t last that long without some quality appeal, and The Trans has it in spades. Boasting five areas to eat and drink (The Craft Bar, The Public, Platform Bar, The Dining Hall and The Beer Garden) punters are spoiled for choice when it comes to craft and local beers, top-notch grub and atmosphere. The Trans has teamed up with Sofi Spritz, taking over The Public and turning it into the Sofi Spritz Orchard Bar – a cosy oasis serving blood orange spritz off tap, live music and more every Friday. Hatted head chef Rob Campbell is serving up some sublime fare at The Dining Hall, including sizzling meat from the grill, pan-seared Atlantic salmon, sumptuous burgers, pizzas and salads. Functions are also a specialty at The Transcontinental Hotel, with packages available to suit a range of needs for just about any event you’d care to host.
