The Talking Toucan
Domi Prince and Rémi Noyelle are coffee lovers, through and through. After dipping their toes into the hospitality industry with their own coffee van, the couple decided opening a bricks-and-mortar space would be more their speed, thus began The Talking Toucan. Situated on James Street in New Farm, The Talking Toucan serves up specialty coffee and nourishing grub from within a cosy cafe space. Out behind The Talking Toucan’s back courtyard is the shed – a function space that can cater to private gatherings of most shapes and sizes. The shed doubles as an space for extra seating during regular dining hours, offering an air-conditioned respite for brunch hunters or those looking to get some work done in peace. The menu offers a hearty selection of breakfast and lunch bites, as well as some gourmet crepes that draw from Rémi’s family recipes. Domi and Rémi have shaken up the coffee offering, selecting Sunshine Coast outfit Freehand Coffee Roasters. Featured blends will change every three months, available alongside single origins across espresso, sold brew and French-press brew methods. Rounding out the menu is a selection of fresh juices, frappes, smoothies and teas.
